Athea Utd will meet Newcastle West Rovers in this seasons fifteens cup final after they won in extra time away to Kilcornan. After a scoreless opening half it was Athea that opened the scoring five minutes after half time when a Kevin Murphy free kick went all the way to net. Kilcornan poured forward to get back in the game and with four minutes left of normal time Niall Smith found the net to tie the game. The defining moment of the game came thirty seconds into the second period of extra time when Dylan Griffin restored the Athea lead and that’s how the game finished.
