U/10 Division 1 Shield Final
Glin Rvs            (1) 3      Sheagh O’Connor, Karl O’Sullivan, Brendan Flanagan.
Broadford Utd   (0) 0

After missing out on the disappointment of losing out on the league on the last day of the season Glin Rovers made sure of getting some silverware with a merited win over Broadford Utd and they could add another trophy as they will also contest the tens cup final. Glin started well with Karl O’Sullivan in midfield on the ball a lot but it was Broadford that nearly took the lead but keeper Alan Scanlon made a great save when he turned a well struck shot around the post. Glin responded and before half time broke the deadlock when Sheagh O’Connor finished clinically to the Broadford net and that’s how it stood at the interval. The second half saw Glin on top for the most part and this resulted in two more goals, the first from the industrious Karl O’Sullivan and the second of the half saw O’Sullivan turn provider when he crossed for Brendan Flanagan, the strikers first touch was instant and before you knew it the ball was nestling in the bottom corner to conclude the scoring.

U/10 Division 2 Shield Final
Athea Utd  (0) 2          Shane Dalton, Liam McAuliffe
Askeaton   (0) 0

Athea Utd claimed the division two shield thanks to a strong second half display against Askeaton last Sunday but the story could have being different had the woodwork not come to their rescue twice in the first half. Athea started well with Liam McAuliffe and Sean Ryan going close before Askeaton came back with Jeff Duggan and Cian O’Keeffe starting to trouble the Athea defence but sterling defence by John Sexton and Andy Ahern kept Athea in it as did the crossbar on two separate occasions.

The second half saw Athea carry the greater threat with sub Shane Dalton having a big influence both in defence and attack as was Askeaton keeper Cian O’Keeffe who was very dependable when going in goal for the second half. The deadlock was eventually broken when a corner by Sean Ryan came to Shane Dalton on the edge of the box and he guided the ball inside the left post. Not long after this Athea struck again when Sean Ryans through ball put Liam McAuliffe through and he finished well. Back came Askeaton with Ray Kelly and Jeff Duggan asking questions of the Athea defence but keeper Timothy Tierney was growing in stature and caught two great balls after Askeaton corners to relieve the pressure and so its Athea that claim the division two shield.

U/10 Division 3 Shield Final
Creeves     (1) 3         Eoin Mulcair, Willie Hourigan (2)
Adare Utd   (0) 0

Creeves good season continued on Sunday last when they added the division three shield after a three nil win over Adare Utd with the winners having a slight edge for most of the game. Early exchanges were even before Creeves started to get on top with Eoin Mulcair and Ciaran Kiely very much to the fore but their opening goal was somewhat fortuitous when a shot from Eoin Mulcair deceived keeper Jack Canty and squeezed inside the post. Dale Griffin and Conal Hourigan had the best of the Adare openings in the opening half but Jason Daly was very solid between the posts. Creeves again shaded things after the interval with sub Willie Hourigan going on to make a big impact and it was his two goals that capped off a fine Creeves win.

After the game Creeves captain Eoin Barry was presented with the division three shield by Tom Ambrose of the Limerick Desmond Schoolboys/Girls League.

Creeves: Jason Daly, Liam Kennedy, Killian Ferris, Ciaran Kiely, Eoin Mulcair, Eoin Barry, Sean McElligott, Evan Donovan, Willie Hourigan, Eoin Burke,

Adare Utd: Jack Canty, Jack Fitzgerald, Cathal Scanlan, Jeffrey Alfred, Brian Curtin, Adam Moroney, Conal Hourigan, Dale Griffin, Bryan Flynn, Tom Feighan.

U/10 Division 4 Shield Final
Newcastle West B   (1) 2    Oskar Pichowski (2)
Bally Rvs                  (1) 1    Johnnie O’Sullivan

This division four shield final was a real cracker with some great passages of play from both sides with the outcome in doubt right up to the final whistle. It was Bally that opened the scoring when Johnnie O’Sullivan found the net with a superb free kick to the delight of the supporters but not long after West were level when Oskar Pichowski got the ball outside the box and held off a defender before firing to the bottom right corner. There could have being more goals but for some quality goalkeeping by Dylan Scanlon for Bally and Mikey O’Connor in the West goal. The second half was as absorbing as the first with both sides committed to attack and it was West that got the decisive goal when a fine move saw Oskar Pichowski finish to the net. Bally pressed hard for the equalizer but West defended stoutly with Conor White and Nathan Dunleavy very much to the fore. In the closing stages Bally had a great chance when they were awarded a penalty but it went wide of the post with West holding out for the last minute or so.

After the game Newcastle West captain Adam Lacey was presented with the division four shield by Pat Mulvihill of the Limerick Desmond Schoolboys/Girls League.

Newcastle West B: Mikey O’Connor, Jamie Kelly, Stephen Lyons, Adam Lacey, Adam Flanagan, CJ O’Brien, Oskar Pichowski, Conor White, Nathan Dunleavy, Piotr Cylbuski.

Bally Rvs: Dylan Scanlon, Michael Cregan, Paddy O’Callaghan, John D Cregan, Stephen Martin, Aoife Cregan, Eamon O’Callaghan, Johnnie O’Sullivan, Michael John Ambrose, Jack O’Shaughnessy.
