U/11 LDSL Tournament Final
Limerick Desmond 4
Cork 1
In the final we faced Cork and recorded an impressive four one win. Ronan Quinn scored inside the opening minute and two minutes later Sean Ryan doubled our lead with a shot from the edge of the area after Ronan Quinn had put pressure on the defender and goalie with Ryans shot finding the net despite the effort of a retreating defender being unable to prevent it crossing the line. A poor kick out led to our third, Dylan Whelan capitalizing on this mistake to make it three nil when he smashed the ball into the bottom corner. Cork pulled a goal back a minute before half time to give them hope but this hope was dashed when Ryan got our fourth goal of the game. It started in defence when super play by Ronan Connolly saw him cut out a dangerous Cork attack before playing the ball to Dan Noonan who played a first time pass to Dylan Whelan who split the Cork defence in two with a sublime pass to Ryan who in turn chipped the advancing keeper in style. Full time 4-1.
